James Harrison Dent



Lieutenant James Harrison Dent (Woodstock)
He was born November 17, 1880 in Woodstock, Ontario. He lived in Woodstock and worked as a Dairyman. He was a long time active member of the Oxford Rifles. He listed his mother Elizabeth Pearl Dent as his next of kin. He was killed in action on November 6, 1917 and has no known grave. He is memorialized on the Menin Gate, Woodstock Cenotaph, Old St. Paul’s 
Church Window and the Bronze Plaque in WCI. James’ father Thomas is the same man who owned The Springbank Snow Countess. The life sized statue can still be seen today at the corner of Dundas St. and Springbank Ave.
